About Bev Wax, Writer
My Story
Now a little more about me.
I consider myself to be a simple storyteller that people seem to like reading. Maybe it comes from my days of being a journalist while my three kids were very young. I have a B.A. in English and for practicality, I minored in journalism.
I wrote for the local paper, feature articles mostly, and for some magazines as well. I don’t write in flourishy language which you can tell if you’re visiting this site!
For I can speak to all classes of people. I was married and the wealthy and well-educated were among my friends. Then after a messy divorce, I had to go back to work in jobs that I previously thought were below me to support my three children. Thus, I can write for the so-called “common man” as well.
I’ve written a book called Thank Now based on thanking people who have helped you now. Don’t wait until they die.
I’ve also written a lot of medical books after working as an administrative assistant, no I’m not a doctor or a nurse, but believe everyone no matter what their age needs a patient advocate. I wrote these after my father died and saw what he had to go through in the hospital. They’re under my pen name of Elizabeth Gray.
Now my latest book, soon to be published, is called Soul Care for 60+; A Beginner’s Guide With 7 Easy Ways to Self-Care for the Soul for Older Adults. From my experience working as Departmental Assistant at my local Council on Aging, taught me that many adults do not know what to do after they retire.
Before kids, I’ve lived across the United States and worked in various sales and marketing jobs in the corporate world. I’ve also worked in the non-profit arena. In all my jobs, I’ve used my customer service background to really listen to people as they tell their stories. What people are really saying! I used my listening skills to write my current book, Soul Care for 60+; A Beginner’s Guide With 7 Easy Ways to Self-Care for the Soul for Older Adults.
To get even more personal, I used to take my dog on long hikes then walks as he (and I!) got older. I’ve also had cats (yes, they seemed to get along with my dog). I enjoy tennis, golf, and have belonged to many book clubs too.

Thank you for reading!
About Bev
Ever since she was a little girl taking walks along Main Street in her small village in upstate New York, Bev has enjoyed writing stories. Growing up, she majored in English…to read about others…and minored in Journalism…to write about others.
She’s has also lived across the country and worked in various sales and marketing positions in the corporate world. Then, after being lucky enough to raise a wonderful family, she found joy in working for a cause in the non-profit arena. Now, she writes for various publications, mainly feature articles on people’s unique experiences. She also uses her organizational skills to deliver excellent customer service for companies…which require her to listen and think about what people are really saying.
Her interests include writing poems that are “forever remembered” for that special occasion using someone’s personal history. Bev finished her first non-fiction book to thank all those who have helped her during difficult times. She is currently working on a non-fiction book on retirement.
She especially enjoys vacationing near the ocean and has dabbled in tennis, golf, and gardening to enjoy the great outdoors in warm weather. She even doesn’t mind shoveling snow in the colder winter season! And being an English Major after all, she has belonged to different book clubs over the years and currently works in communications for her local library.
Cheers for now and thanks for visiting!
